Like many people, I have more hobbies than I have money or time. The ones that currently soak up most of my resources are:
Model and High Power Rocketry
Amateur Astronomy and Telescope Making
I've recently started flying kites again, after being off and on with them for several years, and off for about twenty years before that. One of the things I'm starting to do with my kites is to use them to carry cameras -- more on that at my Kite Aerial Photography page and gallery.
I also used to write software; some of the more finished products are available for download here.
I've recently gotten a Digital Still Camera (a low end one, I'm afraid, but better than nothing). Some of my images can be found here.
I'm working on building a metal cutting lathe, borrowing freely from the Taig, Gingery, and a very old design published in Popular Mechanics magazine. However, lacking the patience to wait another year or two to complete the construction project(s), I have just purchased a Speedway 7x12 Bench Lathe from Homier Distributing Company. The construction will continue, but in the meantime I'll be able to do the things I've wanted a lathe for.
In July 2002, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, which I control with diet. Fortunately, healthy food doesn't have to taste bad (or not at all); here are some of my own recipes.
